From the South (SH1):
After Kaiwaka take State Highway 12 towards Dargaville and Matakohe. Drive through Maungaturoto and Paparoa until you reach Matakohe. Turn right just after the one-way bridge towards the Kauri Museum. Continue straight along Matakohe West Rd past Church Road (Matakohe Kauri Museum) and 2 kms on your left is Tinopai Road. Lavender Dell Cottage is 8.65km along the road on the left-hand side at the top of the hill.

From the Matakohe Kauri Museum:
Turn left into Matakohe West road for 2 kms, then turn left into Tinopai Road. Lavender Dell Cottage is 8.65km along the road on the left-hand side.

From Dargaville and the West Coast:
Follow SH 12 Southwards towards Ruawai and Matakohe. Tinopai Road is on your right 2km before Matakohe Kauri Museum. Lavender Dell Cottage is 8.65km along Tinopai Road on the left-hand side at the top of the hill.
